Amplicon SERVICES

We are using an innovative self-developed technology to pool and sequence many samples and offer modern bioinformatic processing. This brings cost-efficient amplicon sequencing to you, starting from 20€ per sample. 

There are different options to realize projects with us:

  • You can send the extracted DNA of your samples and we perform the lab work
  • We provide the primers for the PCR and you deliver the PCR products to us
  • DNA extraction is also possible in our labs, in case you want to focus on your core work
 

Our bioinformatic expertise gives you the full flexibilty for processing and analysis.  

16S rRNA

The 16S rRNA gene is the most common target to analyse prokaryotic microorganisms. We offer sequencing using the most common V4 or V3-V4 region with extremly low costs from 20€ per sample. 

18S rRNA / ITS

For the analysis of eukaryotic microorganisms the 18S rRNA or the ITS region is used. With our special sequencing setup we can offer prices from 20€ per sample. 

Bioinformatics

We process your amplicon samples with state-of-the-art methods for 5€ per sample and return an interactive document to explore the results. If you need a custom expert analysis we are happy to help.

16S rRNA for Prokaryotes

The most common 16S rRNA target regions to cover whole microbial communities are the V4 or the combined V3-V4 region. We offer to sequence both regions and both are well know to be very universal. With a record of more than 5,000 sequenced samples of complex communities this is one of our standard procedures.

18S rRNA / ITS for Eukaryotes

For eukaryotes we offer different primer combinations for 18S rRNA and the ITS region. Eukrayotes are generally more variable and contain many different taxa groups. For a general overview usually 18S rRNA is a good options. For fungal target the ITS might be better suited. If you are interested in algea there might be the option to use other fragments, e.g. the UPA region.

We offer different depth of bioinformatic processing and analysis:   

Basic bioinformatic processing

The Basic package includes our standard processing using the DADA2 approach to detect microbial taxa. For 16S and 18S rRNA amplicons we use the SILVA database, for ITS we use a BLAST based approach. 

For less than 50 samples per project we charge 7€ per sample. For 50 or more samples we charge 5€ per sample. If you plan projects with 200 samples or more or if you plan more projects with us, we offer special discount conditions.  

Advanced bioinformatic processing and analysis

Pricing and examples

Sequencing prices:

Our prices for amplicon sequencing is extremly competetive and common providers usually charge 50-70€ or more per sample:

  • Below 50 samples we charge 30€ per sample
  • For 50 samples and more we charge 20€ per sample
  • For 200+ samples or more than one project we offer special conditions. 

Our turn-around time is slightly longer, since we collect samples in larger batches.
